Boundaries & Self-Care Handout
One of my favorite things to work on with clients is self-care and boundaries. In my opinion, you can’t have one without the other. We can come up with an incredible self-care plan, but if we have trouble politely turning down invites or not letting our guilt take over when someone needs our help, that self-care plan is nearly useless. By having good, healthy boundaries, you will be able to properly take care of yourself so you can later on give yourself fully to whatever commitment does come up.
So, when I got to the section on self-care and boundaries in Nedra Glover Tawwab’s book Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself, I could not have been more excited! To spread Tawwab’s amazing knowledge, I created this handout based on a very important list she has in her book (nothing makes me happier than a concise list!) with examples of boundaries to ensure you get the most out of self-care.
If you enjoy this worksheet, I’d highly recommend Tawwab’s book! It’s very informative and discusses boundaries in a variety of different environments and relationships.
